Full disks, big prom, and filament from Oct 19

Post by gabrieli »

Taken in windy and wispy, poor sky conditions, the following were a welcome sight after so much recent idle time.
An LS80 and Lunt152 were used.

Beautiful images and a fine record of that huge prom.

These are sweet! The Prom really is big - great perspective on the disc shots - bummer that I missed this today - fingers crossed for tomorrow!?

Thanks, everyone

These were all taken just after lunch time. I wish I had a clear view towards the east earlier for better seeing. Part of my yard allows viewing the sun as early as 10:30am but that view is very close to my neighbour's roof and it was cloudy in that direction. Anyway, to some extent, I've learned that sometimes poor looking raw images can be transformed by processing and that's what's happened here.
