No joy today.

Post by denababy »

Hi I set up and polar aligned my mount as the sky was nice and Blue, but when I tried to get an image, firstly using an eyepiece then using my laptop, nothing, the sky had gone ‘milky’ although still sunny. It only needs the faintest of cover and the image of the Sun is lost, so I gave up. How I wish I had room for an observatory instead of having to set up every time, it must be heaven.

Sorry to hear that Dena, can't say I have ever PA'd my mount for solar, like you I just set it all up, do the time date etc then slew to the sun. If the mount isn't 100% level yes there will be a little drift but as I only image for 20 seconds max it's fine.
