A small active area in CaK on the 9th April

An unexpected clear spell with quite good seeing (1.5-2.0 SSM reading) so I had a look at the disc in CaK, ED80 with focal reducer. The tiny active area looked interesting so I added a x3 Barlow and did a sequence of images at 15 second cadence, 30 frames, 7.5 minutes. I wondered what was going on in white light as well so took the same sequence at the same magnification with ED80 and Lunt Herschel wedge and continuum filter. There is a small pore visible in the area.
I like the strange pulsing of the animated CaK image. Sorry, they are big files but will download if you wait.

These are excellent Robert! You've certainly been getting some clear skies lately - certainly more than me. I did have the Lunt50 set up earlier this morning and caught a few visuals of the emerging flux region where the clouds thinned momentarily. Lots of subtle movement going on in that calcium animation.

Very nice animations! Thanks for sharing them with us.
BTW The pulsations, I am sure, are the mexture of the seeing and real changes on the sun.

Very nicely done, Robert.
I'd settle for just even seeing the Sun. More grey skies here.
