Some reasonable captures

Post by PDB » Wed Apr 18, 2018 4:19 pm

Hi,

Warm and sunny. That has been a long time.
Some captures from this morning (18-04-2018) of a quiet sun, but still some interesting features.
Used the Skywatcher 120-f8.3 and the Quark. Focal Reducer (0.56x) and ASI 178MM binned 2 for not oversampling to much.

Focusing with the stock focuser was extremely difficult, but a new focuser is on the way. Hope to get that still this week.

Think there was also some stain on the Quark which could not be cleared with the flats. (did some cleaning afterwards, let's see tomorrow, weather looks good)

Here some results:

Good stuff Paul.
Was nice here as well- not quite the prefect blue but I will take it after the dismal stuff we have been getting.

Nice surface shots and prominence, Paul. Good luck with your new focuser...

Thanks everybody. Nice blue sky today, so a new try. Seems something interesting is coming on the east-side.
(noticed something yesterday already, but it was still partially hidden behind the limb)
