Hi:
Bad weather keeps up at my place, on the 9th it rained in the morning then it clouded but before lunch I saw the sun shinning through clouds, I thought that nothing would come out, but it did. (had to overexpose the bright ones)
Used the Solarmax 90-DS and the SKYnyx 2-2, I thought that I would not capture the very dim prominences, took 1000 frames in SER and used 30% of them.
Thanks for looking,
Eric.

Nice disks, Eric. You captured a “keeper” despite the uncooperative weather.
Cheers, Peter.

Eric,
They are lovely, I would not have thought you would get so much detail from that amount of cloud.
Shows how much I know :-)
Best wishes,
David

Amazing how you didn't get a mottled surface after stacking with that cloud, I know I would. You work miracles :bow

Alexandra, Peter, Franco and David, thanks for looking and commenting the image.

Well, when I first saw the clouded sky, I thought that I could not take my usual CaK and Ha FD´s, so I started looking how to improve the recording with the 12fps SKYnyx 2-2 camera that I normally use, because I record with the Lucam-Recorder software and I am used to it.

One could see at the monitor the FD image through the clouds, but my usual exposure could not be used, so I had to look for one that would be taken with the best contrasty combination of exposure, gain and gamma. It also was hard to focus correctly but did it the best I could, so I took 1000 frames in SER format. Then came the prominence FD, this was hard because there were some bright protuberances and some really dim and featureless, so to find the best recording was hard. Took about 3 series of 1000 frame recordings but found only one set to be useful.

Then I processed the surface and prominence discs in tiff (normally I do it in .jpg), taking care to get the best of them, so on the prominence disc, I independently took care of each set of protuberances using the magic wand tool and stretching them and when ready, I converted the FD´s to .jpg and loaded them.

Have a good day,
Eric.

That's very nice Eric, especially considering that sky...
