July 26th more good seeing with a gale of wind!

Post by robert »

Another day with a very strong wind shaking the scope horribly but excellent seeing. AS!3 is amazing, it can sort out some detail from mostly smudged frames. (30 frames from 1000 stacked). For the granulation shot I increased the gain in Firecapture to reduce exposure to just below 10ms to try to minmise the wind effects.

Beautiful shots and super seeing. (I have never seen my SSM like that, just the same input level). :o

Yup, stable air and excellent images Robert! My SSM never gives readings like that.

Thanks for the encouraging comments. It surprises me that the SSM is so good with a force 6 wind. It often rips the seeing up but not this week.
