The images below are from using an Aries ERF on a c9.25 + Televue2X + Quark Combo + Blackfly S(2.8 Mp). The efl was 4600mm.
Ther imaging session lasted from 12:30 pm to 1:15 pm, There wasn't much happening by way of surface or edge events.

Hi Lou,
Seems you have a good progress with aperture use. Spiculaes are well seen at the limb and on the disk.
However such a configuration works well to a some extend only. Working F/20 is too wide cone and does not allow the etalon to work close enough to it's native narrow bandwidth.
The best way to use your equipment at it's full potential you do need to have at least F/30 or better F/40 at the etalon and then use a focal reducer to reduce it to F/17-20 in the case your camera has a 4.5mc pixels.
F/20 to F/30 is good for faint prominences and F/30 to F/40 for surface details and spiculaes at the limb.
If your etalon 0.4A bandwidth native, then at F/40 it will has 0.44A bandwidth, at F/30 - 0.52A and at F/20 - 0.88A !

I’d like to use f/40 but the Televue 4x Powermate is too dark. Is there a “brighter” telecentric you could recommend? Is there a preferred 0.5X reducer to use in this case?
