Prom Sept.19th Quantum 6

Post by Astrophil »

Interesting prom today enticed me to image with the Quantum Six scope. The structure of the prom changed quite a bit when seen at larger scales. Here are a few images taken over a period of about 1h 20m.
Baader ERF, Quantum Six Mak F15, 2x telecentric, Solar Spectrum filter, PGR Grasshopper GX camera with and without a focal reducer.

Absolutely beautiful prominence photography. I noticed the prom today on the SDO AIA 304 images as well as on the GONG network Ha photographs. It was completely overcast for me today and I could not get my Coronado SM II 60 on it. This is a far better view than I could ever get visually.

I would like to thank each of you for the kind comments. I'm glad you liked the images. Recently, full disk imaging has distracted me from higher resolution shots, which really are my favorites. Thankfully many of you have posted some great hi-res images to fill the void.
The 40 year old Quantum Six telescope is still performing well even with it's original optics. An old friend by now and refuses to let me down.

Thanks again,

Phil
