AR2749 with C11 + ARIES D-ERF - NEW, 7 frame stacked image added
We are now in the inter-monsoon period. Bad - It is raining every day. Good - Rain cleared the haze from plantation fires in Indonesia.
There was a half-hour window this morning. I am very glad to have obtained some video.
Setup
This is a close-up view of AR2749. I used ImPPG for the deconvolution and minimum processing in PS (contrast and USM sharpening). Do a right-click to see the image at full resolution. It was formed by stacking 1000 out of 2000 recorded frames.
It was taken at 9:49 am local time. 15 minutes after this was taken, rain clouds rolled in and the whole sky turned black. RH probably around 90%. I was pleasantly surprised to get this reasonably good image.
Cheers.

Re: AR2749 using C11 with ARIES D-ERF
Thanks Alexandra and Maurits.
It rained from 8 am to 9:15am local time. It took me about 30 minutes to setup the C11 on the mount and start recording. This is the first time I did recording after a rain. I thought the high RH (about 90%) is bad but it turned out quite ok for imaging. I managed to record 6 videos, going through the rest now. They look good too.

Thanks Jack and Franco.
I also some video of it in extremely poor seeing the day before on 3 Oct. This is how it looked at 11 am local time:
This AR has not grown much from 3 to 4 Oct. Weather forecast predict rain again today, but we never know how it turn out. Hope to catch it today again.

Nice work, Alfred.
Looking good. Let’s hope your skies continue to clear.

Re: AR2749 using C11 with ARIES D-ERF
Thanks Stu and Mark.
All 6 videos turned out good. The rain did wonders to clear away the haze!! The following are also from 4 Oct session:
This is a cropped version, of the 9:49 am image that I first posted. It zoomed in on the AR.
This next image was taken at 9:46 am local time with 1000 out of 2000 frame stacking
As part of my experimentation, I decided to stack just 7 out of 2000 frames from the 9:46am recording
I am always impressed by Christian's stacked image using small number of frames and decided to give it a try. I must say I am astonished that I am able to get such a good image by simply stacking 7 frames. What do you think?
