Hi Jochen,
Starting to look good. What have you done so far ?
Is it a double stacked or single ?

Re: Full Disk 2019-12-17
Thanks Rainer. I think my main issue before was my pressure tuner not being sealed properly. I added some grease to the threads and immediately saw a huge improvement today. Other than that, practice makes perfect. But pretty happy with how today’s session turned out.
It’s a single stack LS50.

Thanks Mark/Maurits.
Tomorrow's supposed to be a beautiful sunny day here in Belgium, so plenty of time to get some more practice in.

Re: Full Disk 2019-12-17
It's coming on nicely Jochen, but like Mark said, keep working on the tuning, look for the darkest contrast and then you know you are on band

Hi Jochen...
Very nice first set of images...well done!!!
As others mentioned some fine tuning will help enhance he contrast and even the disk out. Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of active regions or filaments to experiment on.

Good job, Jochen!
To tease the max resolution out of these 50 mm, I suggest you make a 2x2 mosaic. I have similar pixel pitch (3.75 µm) to yours, and such mosaics work very well for me with a 2x Barlow's lens element screwed directly into camera's nosepiece (giving ~1.6x), e.g.:

Jochen.
Very nice and clean FD´s for a 50mm aperture, probably you can improve your fine tuning adjustments.
Regards,
Eric.

Re: Full Disk 2019-12-17
A mosaic is definitely something I'm aiming towards doing as well. But I want to make sure I get the single images perfected first (the whole walk before you run thing ).GreatAttractor wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 3:45 pm Good job, Jochen!

Also, absolutely amazing image you linked there. Quite a spectacular result for such a modest little telescope.
