All,

Coronado SolarMax II 60 DS
Two prominence areas seen. The first one is easy with two prominences showing a fair amount of detail. The second ones are fainter and much harder to see. One small filament is also seen. Not much else except for the ever present mottling ( filagree ) of the solar disc. 16x and 21.5x

Orion 70mm Solar Telescope.
Disc nearly featureless except for the fine granulation seen covering the entire disc. 25x and 50x

James

Nice report James. Looks like two nicely sized prominences. Definitely worth looking at.

The weather over here (and most of Europe for that matter) is still pretty awful, so no solar work here for the time being.

James:
A good observation, with a few more dimmer prominences.
Wish you a sunny weekend.
Eric.

Maurits,
Actually DayStar Filters colors the images. They can be found on DayStar's website. They keep them updated as well. However that is a good idea, using the monochrome GONG images to practice coloring the images. It will be of use when I start into doing my own solar images myself.

All,
Thanks for your comments. I wish you all a sunny weekend and hopefully some activity will show up on the sun.

James

Fantastic observations James and yes you should colourise the pic yourself, it is always good fun to practice and produce your own style art :hamster:
