18/05/2020 Visual Report

Post by AndiesHandyHandies »

Hi

Only a short one.

M180 F10 PST Mod2 Bino-viewers 10x 25mm

11.00 BST

5 oClock

Bright prom slightly detached from surface leaning down/left. Has a parallel bright part to the right/up detached.
An oval pointing left from the top.
A triangle coming up to meet the end of the oval, two bright small jets either side of the base.

12.00 BST Same prom

The right part is now a pyramid leaning to the left/down. A round hole at the base and a slightly hollow triangle on top.

The triangle to the left is smaller and open base with a jet on top pointing to the other prom on the right.

Unfortunately flying has started again at 10 there was a plane and 4 contrails. Half the sky now covered in contrail haze. And wobbly seeing from residual contrails.
So last of black backgrounds.

Cheers. Andrew.

Hi

Updated my Profile a little.

I am in Derbyshire looking over the first hill at the south end of the Peak District.

Planes use the Peak as a navigation aid, sticks up in the day, a dark spot inside the surrounding light pollution at night.
In normal times you can see about 6 planes over the Peak at a time.

Cheers. Andrew.

Andrew,

Thank you very much. Is that a Quarry or a small Coal mine on the southeast end ?

Hi

Ah. Where did you garner this from? Facebook?

"Thank you very much. Is that a Quarry or a small Coal mine on the southeast end ?'

If its a view from my greenhouse the deck with telescope pier on the left is set on sandstone base rock 44" down.

The rails over ivy are on top of a derelict barn against the start of the quarry face which extends south.
Someone nicked the antique Staffordshire Blue tiles off part of the roof. There is a covenent on the barn that it should be maintained to keep the wall up!
And ivy has got in the original drystone wall perched on the edge of the quarry and bits underneath have gone.
I am trying to prop up whats left to keep my garden from 'sinking into the West' like the Hobbits.

Its quiet big beyond a sloping path and a Jaeger clothing factory was built in part of it. It is now a housing estate.

Cheers. Andrew.

Fabulous description of the prominence, it is amazing how fast they change if you have the time to make observations over a few hours :bow :hamster:
Interesting about your garden too :)
