Calcium Sun 22nd June
It's a case of blink and you'll miss it here in the UK, at 6.30am there was gloriously blue skies so with a coffee I went out to be set up for observing, and after a spot of breakfast I started to observe at around 7.15am. Rather perplexed my newly configured CaK filter was back to it's old exposure levels, looking skyward those blue skies had turned to a pale yellow around the sun indicating high cloud had made an appearance. Fortunately the transparency was stable and so with good but not excellent seeing I set out to see what was there at 393nm.
First off the full disk - 60mm aperture f16 at the filter and also camera.

Next up going to 100mm aperture and f28, the seeing was borderline and a little less aperture would have probably worked better,

Hoping tomorrow morning offers a little more in the way of transparency, also hoping the sun offers a little more in the way of activity, but think I will have to wait a little longer than tomorrow for that
Hope you like these
Mark

Looks like you had a good early morning session, Mark. Very nice images. It’s a shame things are so quiet again.

At least you can see the Sun!
I was looking forward to some sessions as the last sunspot started to appear. But then so did these damn clouds.

Superb fine detail in these Mark
I did blink and miss the Sun yesterday, nothing but cloud over Cheshire at the moment, maybe tomorrow?
