Full disk 04-07-2020

Post by rsfoto »

Hi,

Today pristine clear sky with a guessed seeing at about 1.5" arc seconds with which I have noticed that the seams of my mosaics are more visible then with a worse seeing maybe around 2" or 3" arc seconds

Looking at the Sun surface two of the filaments of the train have survived and are now at the meridian or a bit past.

At the limb in the Northeastern quadrant a shy filaprom lurking at us at about +46°. Same latitude as the big left over filament of the train, which started to develop on June 29 and had its peak on June 30.

On the Northeastern limb there is a very very faint Prominence having it root at about +22° wth a size of about 5 Earth diameters.

A few perturbations on the surface of which only the one in the Northeastern quadrant at about +7° and -24° produced two pores visible in the white light image.

The huge and fine prominende at the Souteastern limb still there in full beauty and seems to be a filaprom on its lower end. The maximum height of this promince is at about 7 Earth diameters.

As already said there are two pores well visible in the white light image product of the spot of old cycle 24.

As usual best seen in full size in a new Tab/Window. Thanks for looking :bow2

Excellent work Rainer. Your images always show the textures of the sun so well. Any disturbance and plage always shows up and you excel at filament/prominence detail. You beat the GONG network by a mile!

Hi James,

For H-alpha I use a Takahashi FSQ 85ED @ 900 mm focal length and the camera description should read ASI 290MM Cool not Coll

Image

and for White Light I use a Takahashi FS-78 @ 630 mm focal length

For some reason I can't open the top two images, that is a real pain because I know they will be good. I will have to check by tomorrow and see if the internet here is behaving.

Love the white light :hamster: but I bet it is quieter than the Halpha

Nice result as always, Rainer.

And always interesting to see a bit of gear (especially if it's some tasty Taks ;) ).
