Saturday Sun 19th Sept '20

Post by Carbon60 »

Slim pickings this weekend. I had a few things to sort out at home leaving only a short opportunity Saturday late morning for some solar imaging.

A couple of FDs in Ha and CaK. Seeing and transparency were average to poor. Single FDs (not mosaics) using a 1.5x Barlow on the DS Lunt 60 and Altair Astro Lightwave 72mm/F6 fitted with a Basler acA1920-155um and acA2440-75 um respectively. Ca K imaged with a Lunt B1800/Omega/Baader K-line combo.

I did try for a closer view of a very small magnetically active region, but the conditions weren't really up to it.....

As for the FDs, no significant features or anything remarkable, unfortunately.

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

Well done Stuart! fabulous but very very quiet! :bow :hamster:

We have also had 3 very busy weekends, the weather has been lovely and dry so we have spent the last 3 weekends trimming all the hedges and trees. It is very hard work but at least it is finished now apart from a bit of waste disposal. Ready now for solar imaging again with all the shrubbery cleared. Pity the sunny weather is coming to an end. As per predictions this settled weather over the UK fits around a long period of solar inactivity. I am sure our weather is linked to solar activity.
