Solar activity November 2

Post by krakatoa1883 »

This is a foggy week here however today the sky cleared for few hours and I have been able to capture few images and a very short animation of the SE limb region. Great to see our Sun that is returning to be active. A new spot group appeared in the N hemisphere (two small spot in a large facular/plage area)

Excellent images and animation - even though the Sun is a little quieter than of recent days.

Thanks Raffaello for sharing

Raffaello,
Concerning the last image, I had to catch this area today during brief moments of better seeing. I never could get a very good look at it. Thanks for the better view.

Thanks for comments.

James, it's a large group - probably the largest of cycle 25 so far, that is rotating from the SE limb (SDO image attached). Let's keep an eye on it in the coming days.

Thanks Alexandra, Mark.

In CaK the scope is very good up to 70mm aperture, less good @90mm, is a short apo for deep sky imaging. However I am waiting for its 1.6x extender which brings the e.f.l. to 800 mm and corrects the objective in the near UV.
