Hi,
Another Sunny Autumn day and the Palm tree is still there
Here the discs of today November 5, 2020.
AR 12781 still going strong and AR 12780 has developed a spot with a hint of Penumbra and two lonely pores to the right side. Look at +20° and -20° in the Northeastern quadrant.
H-alfa surface looking disturbed all over the Sun's surface with a lot of small sized filaments as well as on the limb some in the Northern hemisphere.
Sorry for the burned out AR 12781 but if I do expose for its details everything else on the surface is gone. That Spot has a verybright plague.
Looking at the Stonyhurst Heliographic image in about 4 days we can expect some more activity ?
As usual best seen in full size in a new Tab / Window

Excellent report Rainer and images too, where a close look at 12780 in fact shows two spots (1 much smaller) close-by, so could indicate more actions from that one.
Thanks vm

Hi,
Managed to get 90 minutes of AR 12781 and here a video of what it did in those 90 minutes until it reached the border of the wall of my observatory.
The vertical drift is declination which is normal. Just clicking on the link should open it and after a short moment it will start playing automatically. Well, at least in my browser FireFox that is what happens. Video is approximately 30 MB and a duration of 24 seconds. I saw three flares.
Thanks for watching.

Beautiful full disk, Rainer. Your FDs make the Sun look quite active. Animation is good too.

Rainer,
GONG images are the same way. They expose for maximum disc detail and they too often overexpose the active regions. That's to be expected I guess. You exceed theirs though.
Awesome animation!
