WHAT'S NEXT AFTER 1280/81 ??
STEREO is showing more action in the East-South-East Quadrant in just over 24-hours from 20:30z Sunday 8th November 2020.
Two AR's in close-formation cover a similar sized-area as the current AR2781, so possibly (only possibly) we could be in for another treat (as the last few days)...

Re: WHAT'S NEXT AFTER 1280/81 ??
I should have woken-up from AR numbers of years ago. So the correct numbers for the heading should be 2780 & 2781... Ooops! & Ooooch!!!

Re: WHAT'S NEXT AFTER 1280/81 ??
Absolutely Rainer - that is most likely correct, but who knows for certain as recent events didn't even apply any numbers to an obvious AR for some time after it/they appeared.
PS - to save wearing-out my number-one (1), I only put the last four-numbers in (as do many websites) but if you really want me to wear-out that key, then I will at the expense of wearing-out my little-finger too !!!
Best wishes

Thanks for the heads-up Terry. It seems we are moving on past solar minimum.

Oh yes James, that must be a definite and with 2025 being the maxima (average date), must be heading towards that...

Hi,
If you look now on the HMI image in SDO there is something lurking around the corner in the Southeastern quadrant ...

Re: WHAT'S NEXT AFTER 1280/81 ??
Well spotted Rainer and on-time too, with what appears to be as interesting as 2781, although I won't hold my breath there.
Also on SDO there is still much radiation coming from 2781, as well as prominence-activity in the far S.E. Limb - no doubt associated with what is to come into full view in the next 24-48 hours...
Exciting it is.
Whether I can get the new WL imaging system ready in time for the oncoming or even 2781, is what I'm currently working on...
Cheers
