November 22 2020 Observations. WL only.

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Session time is around 2:00pm EST local time ( US ). Skies are mostly cloudy. Seeing is actually decent and the temperature is 61F. I observed from within the house, from my dining room with the telescope set up just behind the open sliding glass door. One has to take a quick opening in the clouds when available!

Orion 70mm Solar Telescope. 27.5x and 55x ( WL )
I got a total of six spots/pores on the Sun today! Three in AR12784 in the NW. All are small with the third barely visible. SDO shows at least 1 more. AR12783 in the south shows a well developed spot with well developed umbra/penumbra structure. A small pore is located a short distance northeast of it. A new emerging AR in the SE shows one emerging spot among the faculae. It's well developed sporting a penumbra around a darker umbra. I see no other pores in the area. I was able to only briefly catch the faculae of AR12782 on or very close to the SW limb before clouds covered it up. I saw no spots or pores there.

Granulation is visible today.

Good afternoon Rainer,
I lucked out on this one. It's been overcast almost all day here. It's trying to clear up a bit here now as I type this but the sun is too low now in the trees to get my scopes on it.

Keep your eye out for a sucker hole! You might just luck out too.

James
