I tried my RCT Hydrogen alpha rig on AR12816 this morning.
The conditions were not really up to the job, but the result isn't a total disaster and it gave me an opportunity to get more time/experience with this setup. It took quite a bit of tweaking to get a pretty even field with uniform illumination and tuning.
Unlike yesterday, there were no flares at the time I was making my observations.

Today here Stu, the sky was as clear as those south of the Mediterranean, so shame yours was not so good.
But you have still captured an excellent image and the colouring is also excellent.
Thanks for sharing
Terry

Many thanks, guys. Looking at the raw data, I was surprised that I got what I did. The seeing at this aperture was really awful.

These are impressive Stu! I'm toying with the idea of ditching the HaT and getting a 6" frac instead, I think I will get more use and a frac won't be anywhere near as much high maintenance sensitive as a SCT...

I know exactly what you mean, Mark. Outings with the RCT are really too few and far between. I get much more use out of the 150.marktownley wrote: ↑Sat Apr 24, 2021 10:55 am These are impressive Stu!
