The Metallic Sunspot

This is a revisit to the famous "Fibrils Flower on the Sun" image by Alan Friedman which was featured as NASA APOD on 17th February 2015. The image was captured by the 1.6m Grand Solar Telescope at Big Bear Solar Observatory on 2nd October 2014. It is a close up of the active region 2177.
