AR12818-21 in Ha 26th April

Post by marktownley »

Monday offered the last day of clear skies for me before the weather breaks down, with high pressure being pushed away with low pressure and it's attendant cloud and rain which arrived today. I left work racing a band of quite thick high cloud that was pushing down from the north, I second guessed this high cloud would calm the seeing, which it did to a certain effect, I chanced the Coronado DS90 and the ZWO290mm, the live view didn't look good at all, but 64 of the 4000 frames came out good and I was happy with this result even if I did have to chew it in ImPPG.

Looks like rain is set in for a couple of days now, might get something afterwork if i'm lucky on Thursday, after that it will be the weekend before el-sol returns. Hoping my pier adapter is delivered this week too, that means my second pier can be set up around the back of the house (however did I get away with that one?!?!?!?) - that should give me small scope capabilities in the morning before I go to work now the sun is rising ever earlier.

Hope you like.

Mark

Hi Mark, why did you chose to use the ZWO 290MM over the 178MM ?

Hi Douglas, I went for the 290 over the 178 for a number of reasons; frame rate is better than the 178, and from what I see on here it is a lottery with a 178 whether you get the grid pattern superimposed on images in Ha. Wasn't prepared to take that risk with the latter!
