April 28 2021 Observations
Today I observed at two different times due to clouds and trees getting in my way. The first session occurred between 1:15pm and 2:00pm and the second between 4:00pm and 4:30pm EDT local time ( US ). I fell asleep in the chair waiting on the sun to pass the trees between sessions. I had the Pfizer vaccine, the second one yesterday and the side effects, headaches, weakness, joint pain and a low grade fever are showing themselves. I stayed outta work today. The fist session had mostly cloudy skies and fair seeing. The temp was 75F. The second session had a few less clouds but the seeing was not as good. The temp was 79F. I did not get to white light until the second session.
I have compressed both sessions into a single report for practicability.
Coronado SolarMax II 60 DS. 16x, 21.5x and 33x ( Ha )
I can see the mega-plage of the AR12818-20-21 complex in the SW. I can see three spots within it, even in Ha. I can see an easy filament south of it's eastern end. During the second session I noticed a fainter one at the western end of the plage.
The SE shows a nice broken dark sizeable filament that is easy to see. I can also see a filament in the far NW quadrant.
There is a nice prominence on the NE limb. I can see vertical striations within it and a notch at the top center. I also notice a small bright prom in the NW.
The mottles cover the disc outside of the SW plage and are easy to see.
Orion 70mm Solar Telescope. 25x and 41.5x ( WL )
I can pick out 9 spots/pores in the AR12818-20-21 complex. I can barely hint it's faculae as well. I did not notice the granulation.
Goodnight/Goodday folks..
James

Re: April 28 2021 Observations
Thank you for the report, James! They are always very informative I like to read them, and then try to see what you saw yourself. Even the side effects of the vaccine did not prevent you from preparing another interesting report.

Nice report James, if the sun is shining for me at the end of the day I might try and grab a session after work.

Re: April 28 2021 Observations
Well done James and thanks for the report
I had my first AstraZeneca jab last week and within 12 hrs all my joints were on fire and I couldn't walk. I was a cripple for 12 hours. I can't imagine what the real thing is like not looking forward to the second. Worst vaccine since the BCG.

Re: April 28 2021 Observations
Thanks for the replies folks. Yesterday was an effort for me since I was feeling so poorly. I and Ivan I am glad my observations are an inspiration and guide for you. That alone makes them worth posting.
Alexandra, I thought the AZ shot was a single dose. I was obviously wrong. It's still pending approval here in the US. Good luck on the second!

Re: April 28 2021 Observations
I was exactly the same too Alexandra (not that's any consolation!), trust me, Covid is worse than the side effects of the jab, I can vouch for that first hand...

Re: April 28 2021 Observations
Thanks for the report James, I managed a short session this afternoon. Goodness Mark, did you catch covid? I've got my second vaccination next week. The first one I was I'll for five days. Hopefully James you'll recover quickly. Yes Alexandra, I'm not looking forward to my second vaccination. Take care everyone.

Re: April 28 2021 Observations
My wife had COVID-19 last year and another member of my family has had it as well. I have been fortunate and have not caught it. Hopefully the vaccine will eliminate or at least greatly reduce the chance of me getting it. I look forward to normalcy. To when we can take these D@*&M masks off!! I wanna see lasting herd immunity!
