11th May CALCIUM-K CAPTURES.

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

These are the second set of today's captures. Turbulent conditions, but very clear-blue sky with those clouds about to shorten the session today.

Comparison between a single-frame and 100-frames staked.

Like our Nigella and her CaK scope, I do lurvve my Lunt 60mm CaK scope and would never part with it - even after 10-years...

Thanks for looking
Terry

Great images Terry :bow :hamster:

I prefer the single image though as it is more true to life. This is key, any stacked and sharpened image must show the same data as a single natural frame otherwise the image is not right.

It's nice to see you imaging, Terry. I am overdue. Time has been too short and too little lately.

Again - so many thanks for the useful comments and yes there are often times when the single-frames seem to be better than the stacked images.

One likely cause could be the turbulent-air this morning and perhaps Registax etc, might improve that image..

I'm still learning and trying-out different things and it is possible this time that a repeat trial of some other captures might improve the stacking of the CaK images, which will be further posted on the page.

Thanks you James, Alexandra and Nigella.

Regards
Terry

Thank you Maurits for the useful comment too and yes I used to use that colour and even a darker hue some years ago and got one of those published in a brand new magazine.
Unfortunately the mag was only around for a couple of years, as was produced by a friend of mine who was an excellent astro-imager in the UK, but sales were not sufficient.

Terry

I get out to the observatory very often, but it's as usual been those water-vapours up high that have interfered...

Thanks Mark
