I was more focused on White Light today but did get a few snaps with HA using the Esprit 150.

Terrific series, Simon.
Beautifully contrasty surface and delicate, wispy proms.
Cheers

I did indeed. Looks like a lot of places all over the US over the next couple days have 5/5 seeing according to Clear Sky Charts

Simply gorgeous, to resolve all those fine wispy spicules and proms is such a delight to see it happens rarely in the UK

Great results, and beautifully processed.

I remember read somewhere Simon uses a Gemini. Sorry if I am wrong.MAURITS wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 1:44 pmI am also curious about the type of Ha filter.GreatAttractor wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 1:15 pm Great results, and beautifully processed.

Re: 2021 May 12 - Random HA offerings
Is the Proms etalon redundant? Since I do see proms quite well with the Quark chromosphere

Re: 2021 May 12 - Random HA offerings
Not specifically, there is a trick to using a prom version or should I say if the bandpass is 0.9 angstroms and above.
The idea behind it is, fainter proms are more.... prominent.
I find I get much sharper results, especially when going for prom animations at the expense that surface details will just look off band. There have been 1 or 2 occasions where for some odd reason, the surface has come on band.
Generally speaking, I dont push people into getting one for proms if you dont have a specific use for it.
