AR2824 in detail from May 20, 2021

Post by oreoluna »

Hello everybody.
Since it's only raining, I took the time for a short documentary about the AR2824

AR2824 at 12.00 p.m. CEST

Here we see the Plages in the eastern part of the AR2824. The granule pores, which convey a honeycomb pattern, are particularly noticeable, as are the delicate fibrils.

The superpenumbra of the sunspot is nothing short of breathtaking.

In the western part of the active region, it is easy to observe how the hydrogen pours almost circularly from the edges of the small plague, following the magnetic field arcs in all directions, onto the surface, so to speak.
Image

Southern part of the AR. Again, very interesting to see how the magnetic fields echoed the chromosphere in motion, creating the most bizarre abstract patterns.

And something off topic, the beautiful filament in the north of the sun.

Jozef

Very interesting study, Josef, and excellent images!
There are tons of physics there... It might inspire me to take another look at the brief course of MHD :D
thanks for sharing with us

You're getting some really nice images Jozef! That 4th floor balcony certainly helps with your seeing.
