Re: 2021 May 27 - LS80
Honestly, i really dont like color in solar images, or any astro images to be honest.
I color them because some people have that expectation. Its like look at CalK/H and seeing ti purple. We know why its purple, but generally, the public doesn't understand why. Dont get me wrong, if someone is genuinely interested, I do explain it. I get tired of people telling me the sun isnt yellow, red green, pink or blue, yet they dont know the color either and end up pointing to same article over and over again.
Rant over...

Re: 2021 May 27 - LS80
Ha Ha Simon. Excellent comments about colouring, but in the very-old days when films were just B&W and then they were able to introduce colours into those oldies, it did seem a little less boring.
So tonight I will also provide one of my coloured CaK images in grey-scale too - just to keep you happy !!!
Best Wishes
Terry

Beautiful images, Simon.
Like you, I prefer uncoloured images. They rarely add anything and, in my opinion, generally detract.
That being said, the first image uses a colour scheme like Alan Friedman’s which is quite nice!
Cheers.

Exceptionally fine images from the LS80, Simon. My LS80 must need a tune up.

Ver nice images Simon, as usually!

I am also fun of the B&W, but only aesthetically speaking, I like to see some well adjusted colour sometimes.
And you always have some very special personals colours that you use, that I like a lot.
In another opportunity I will ask you to reveal your three magic numbers. ;-)
best wishes,
Alexandros

Without creating a video showing it, here's a screen shot of it. If your a Photoshop user, this should be enough to understand.

Alan's images are just unreal. a lot of his captures put my stuff to shame. One of his best shots is the WL of sunspots.

If you haven't before, i suggest releasing the pressure from it. Make sure you do it indoors as to not get dirt into the pressure chamber. You dont need to unscrew it completely out, enough so the seal is opened. You'll feel a pop when it does.

Re: 2021 May 27 - LS80
Here's a colour scheme that ive used. Its not super popular and I always get people saying something about how incorrect it is which just boggles my mind when they say stuff like that. I use it in advertising as its so striking that people have to double take. Next thing they realize, i got them interested in whatever im doing. Sometimes if im mega bored, i say its Planet Hulk.

Re: 2021 May 27 - LS80
Simon,
In monochrome or in color your images are among the best. You are truly the ace of inverted images as well! For accurate documentation of the Sun I would agree that monochrome is the best rivaled in my opinion by red if in Ha ( for visual-view accuracy ) . BUT color makes the images so pleasing to look at, it's so aesthetically pleasing. It's artsy and if your images are not top-par, like mine, color is more forgiving than monochrome. But that certainly doesn't apply to you since yours is top-notch. And I do love the bronze coloration!
Your Quark stands up against any Solar Spectrum, Solarscope or DayStar Quantum images I've seen. It's exceptional!

Terrific images Simon we all have our favourites and if everyone did the same it would make solar astronomy pictures boring. We each add our own individual art in the post processing
