05.25.21 Sun in Lunt50

Post by Ivan »

Hello everyone

Only now I was able to process what I shot on May 25th. Full disc. James, I tried to rotate the images correctly, did I succeed?
I remember that day with a failed attempt to make animation and a big and beautiful prom in the southwest.

I still really appreciate your comments, because I understand that only at the beginning of the journey.

Thanks for watching,
Ivan

Very beutiful photos of full disk Ivan!!!
I am also new, but as far as I understand from the practical point of view the orientation is correct when you two movemnets of your mount are moving a spot (or any point) of the sun on an absolutely horizontal and vertical line on your screen, respectively.

Then if you wish to add the tilt, you can use the TitlingSun software.

Visually looking at your photos, I think they arecorrectly oriented, as Alexandra said, but for absolute certainty, you can compare them with photos from official solar websites.

Hope some more experienced people here will correct me if wrong.

All the best,
Alexandros

Alexandra, Alexandros, Stu thank you very much for your comments.

Alexandra, thank you for your livejournal article, I also remember your advice not to make the image too sharp.

Alexandros, thanks for the advice on camera orientation, I will definitely give it a try. By the way, your full disc is great and full of details.

Stu, thanks for the kind words.

Ivan
