High Magnification White Light

Post by Simon2940 »

Seeing wasnt really what it claimed so I keep trying to get sharper images but so far there results are not too disappointing.

Mix of 5x and 10x powermates (2x + 5x)

That's amazing Simon, what scope were you using?

Wow!!!!! :bow
Stunning granulation Simon!
If this is with 'poor seeing' then what will you be producing with a good one?
I cannot have good results with Barlow x2, and you are using x2x5???
I did not even now it is possible without bluring completely the image.
You give me hope that with the FFC on hand I may finally see Hi-res granulation.
Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes,
Alexandros

Im starting to figure out how best to shoot for this level of details, next test is the 12" newt full speed ahead gimme all dem photons. I might have a window thursday but i rly need 5/5 seeing! Who knows, i might get lucky.

It wasnt poor seeing, it was reported 4/5 but looked more like 3/5 with short moments of clarity but not long enough. On average i was getting maybe 30-40 frames of rock solid data and the rest of the 700 frames are just junk.

Almost forgot....

Here's one that went through Topaz but now im getting into the point where the final image is somewhat questionable in terms of data accuracy since its now considered being heavily processed. It's starting to look a little odd.

Franco is right Simon!
It may be slightly overprocessed, but your result is fantastic!
What was your seeing. You wrote not as good as predicted, but do you have any idea? No SSM I suppose.
Anyway your powermates should be the best ever produced! ;-)

No SSM, i wasnt measuring to be honest. Seeing was rated at 4/5 but was more like 3.5/5

Overprocessed is probably an understatement. Its WAY over. Since this is still new to me and im not getting consistent results, I still need to figure more things out. Trying to get some time on a 230mm refractor.
