Monday Sun 31st May 2021

Post by Carbon60 »

Another beautiful day here (our run of good weather won't last) so I took advantage and imaged across the spectrum at various image scales with my main focus being on AR2827.

The conditions were not ideal (they rarely are), but the seeing at times was boiling. A lot of data ended up in the bin, especially some of the closer views.

I decided to have another go at Ha FD mosaics, so here's my effort on the Lunt 60 with 2.5x PM (6 panes). It's just so difficult to get an even view across the field in these. Look closer and you'll see some changes in apparent resolution as the conditions were so variable this morning.

Here's a closer view of a prom from departing AR2824, as it continues around the limb.

Thnaks for sharing Stuart!
Very beautiful images despite your seeing and I very much liked the set of the main event.
What magnification did you use for it?
It seems my old Barlow is bad, since I can get no nice images with it. I am waiting for an FFC, but it seems it won't be available before August...
Best wishes,
Alexandros

You had a really good catch here Stu. All are great but my favorites are the colored full disc CaK and Ha images.

Hi Alexandros,

For the Ha images I used my 150mm/DS Lunt 35 mod with a 2.5x PowerMate and a Basler acA1920-155um camera. The apparent focal ratio is f34.
