31May2021: AR12827 in Hi-Res H-alpha

Post by p_zetner »

Hi Everyone.
I was able to take advantage of a short period of above average seeing this morning. Here are some high resolution images taken with the Celestron Edge / Daystar 0.6QPE system at ~ f/46. Some inverse images are presented as well as an off-band shot (~ 0.6 angstroms blue).
Cheers.
Peter

Pretty amazing close ups, Peter ! I had to limit myself to wide field views this late afternoon. Well done.

Hi Peter
It turned out great.
I really liked the inverted shot.

And what does the shift of the stripe to the side of the blue wing give? A less dense layer of the chromosphere? And it seemed to me (or not?) That the areas with higher temperatures became more contrasting?

Sorry if the questions are stupid.

Ivan

Thanks for the kind comments, everyone.
Ivan, as you progress from line core to line wings you image closer to the photosphere. I don’t think there’s necessarily a higher contrast in high temperature areas. This is a pretty active region and it changed its “look” over the course of the imaging session.
Cheers.
Peter

Hi Alexandra.
I imaged with the C8 Edge (200mm).
I did luck out with the seeing.
Thanks for the comment.
