2021-06-02 - AR2827 in CaK
As mentioned in my previous post, yesterday's CaK imaging wasn't a great success; so I was eager to try again today when the forecast predicted fairly promising conditions.
I might have gone a bit overboard with data collection, coming in at just shy of 220Gb of captures (did CaK only today). But in the end, it did give me some nice data to work with; so worth it!
Setup: 150mm achromat @ 120mm f/15, Lunt CaK b1800, Baader Blue CCD filter, ASI290.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Jochen,
220GB of data!!. That is half my HDD for data. Always great to see the fibrils out of the sunspot.
Great job!

Thanks Mark/Franco/Alfred.
I was simply launching a capture everytime the seeing looked decent (just eyeballing it on the screen, don't have an SSM). It adds up quickly

Fine images, the structure of the penumbra has been well resolved.

Thanks Raf/Alexandra.
The captures were a bit all over the place (time in between) with a bunch of them being a blurry mess as well. So no timelapse I'm afraid.

Re: 2021-06-02 - AR2827 in CaK
Jochen, nice captures in CaK! Would you use some filter in front of the main lens or you just reduced the aperture from 150mm to 120mm? I mean possible problem with the B1800 filter overheating.
Best wishes, Ivan.

Re: 2021-06-02 - AR2827 in CaK
Thanks Eric/Ivan/Peter.
That would indeed be a legitimate concern here. What I've done is place a Baader Blue CCD filter in front of the B1800 module, acting as a sub-aperture ERF.
