June 3, 2021 AR12827 and AR12829 WL,Ha
Hi All,
It was a challenging session today imaging through thin clouds. Rather long exposure times and variable brightness during captures but the results seemed worthy of posting. There was quite a bit to see with numerous small regions of activity. I concentrated on the two major ones.
Taken with the 6” Mak, Solar Spectrum, Grasshopper GX.

Phil:
Very good results even with the challenging seeing.
Looks like we have the same weather and yes, it is very difficult to record with seeing like that.
Best regards,
Eric.

Another cracking set of images, Phil, in challenging conditions. Nicely done.

Sublime images Phil! Can you describe how you post process the Ha images? I love the contrast you get...

Thank you so much for the kind comments.
Mark, the post processing is nothing special. I capture with an old program called Astro IIDC with the gamma set to boost the contrast, the resulting .mov files are converted into .avi and stacked in AutoStakkert, imppg, then PhotoLine for a descreening, curves, levels, and denoise if needed.
Franco, I’m in St. Petersburg.
Alexandra, I’m sure you will.

Excellent images, as always, Phil.
Absolutely nice place and set-up!
Hope your next step in the solar Ha will be something like C11 with a double stack (SS + LS50FHa). Then we will see solar miracles here so frequently and so detailed as never before.

Thanks, Valery, Peter, and Arne. That location is my favorite and works for about three months of the year, the rest of the time trees block the view. I often contemplate getting a larger scope, maybe someday I will. Thanks again for the encouragement.
