Session time is 15:17 to 16:04 UTC. The skies have a considerable amount of high thin cloudiness. The seeing is fair to maybe a little below average and the temp is 73F.
Coronado SolarMax II 60 DS. 16x, 21.5x and 33x ( Ha )
Today I can easily see three active regions on the solar disc. AR12827 in the NW shows a bright plage running diagonally NE-SW. I can see a very thin filament running along it's NE edge. In addition to this GONG Cerro Tololo shows an additional filament running NW from the active region. I cannot see this in it's entirety. I can only see the tip of it. Barely. A spot is visible NW of it's SW edge.
Another tiny dark centered plage is visible just NE of AR12827. I cannot tell whether the tiny dark center is a filament or a spot. GONG does show it elongated. Filament?
AR12829 is a nice looking system. The right fork of it's bent wishbone shaped plage ends at a spot. South-East of it's brighter plage body is a fainter patch of plage that trails off further to the the SE. This is still easy to see in the Coronado.
The faint system of AR12828 in the SW is difficult to see. Using a nearby filament at the limb I was able to locate it. The filament tip points towards the faint plage. I see it as a tiny low contrast dark curved line ( A filament? ) surrounded by a slightly brighter area. I would never notice this tiny disturbance at all if I did not know exactly where to look.
Elsewhere on the disc I see three filaments. Two SW of the north pole and a filament projecting inward from the SW limb.
I can see a nice hedgerow group of prominences on the NE limb. They flare out with their tops entwined. This can be only hinted at in the Coronado 60 but GONG shows it well. The SMII90 would have given a great view of this! I see another small prom on the SE limb. Since I only viewed in doublestack today I cannot see the fainter proms.
The mottles are easy today.
Orion 70mm Solar Telescope. 25x, 50x and 62.5x ( WL )
Visually I can see 5 spots/pores in AR12827. The largest ( westernmost ) one shows excellent form with it's nearly symmetrical penumbra surrounding a dark umbra. Visually I see two spots immediately to it's east. The SDO HMI continuum instrument clearly shows these surrounded by a shared penumbra. Is this a double umbra'd or light bridged spot or actually two spots sharing a penumbra? I see spots do this a lot. I see a couple of tiny pores just NE of these.
I can see a spot or large pore NE of AR12827 matching a plage seen there in Ha. The SDO shows this pore to be double!
I can see 7 spots/pores in AR12829. Like the aforementioned AR12827, three of these share a penumbra. I can faintly see faculae trailing off SE of the system.
Elsewhere on the disc I can see faculae in the NE coming off the limb.
The fine granulation is visible with difficulty.
All while listening to Ryan Farish. Wonder album.
Have a sunny Friday folks. Carpe Cerevisi!
James
P.S. I went back out about an hour later and notice changes in the plages! AR12829 has brightened up on it's northern extremities making the wishbone harder to see.

Re: June 4 2021 Observations
Nice report James!
I was out viewing this afternoon (out on the boat) and a random passer by on the canal towpath ask me if the scope / mount was a barbeque?????!!!!!????!!!! I've heard some people say some strange stuff before but that is a new one on me!
It was nice to see the activity though

How in the heck can someone confuse a scope for a barbecue!? I would have told them if you remove the filters and put your eyes or skin up to the eyepiece you would get barbecued!

You sure the passer-by was confusing you with the similar word "Berlebach" ??
One way or the other Mark, at least you didn't have to prove James's suggestion - ouch !!!
Thanks James for your latest.
