Sun in Lunt50

Post by Ivan »

Hello everyone,

Again, I'm a little late)) but a lot of work, and of course these days there is not a cloud in the sky.

Full disc from June 4th. There is nothing I can do about the unevenness of the pieces of the mosaic, no matter how hard I try, Fotomerge cannot bring the picture to a uniform tone.

I would still like to hear your comments and advice.

Happy viewing,
Ivan

Excellent captures Ivan and I would say there is anything really wrong to worry about.
Could even be a little/thin cloud causing the unevenness...

Thanks for sharing
Terry

Nicely done, Ivan.

I struggle with the same issue on FD mosaics. It’s so difficult to get every pane perfectly even.

Beautiful full disks Ivan!
Don't worry about the unevenness. Your FDs are very well made!
In case it may be of any help, when I tried my first FD, I worked it out by selecting roughly the uneven area by hand in Photoshop and then 'Select'-->Modify-->Feather-->Image-->Adjustments-->Level or Shadows and Highlights. The feather tool is all the magic!
Hope it helps.
Best wishes,
Alexandros

I wonder if GIMP has an equivalent?

Hi James! Good question.
I just opened GIMP and saw that under Select menu there is 'Feather...'. I suppose it is the same as in Photoshop, but have not used it yet. All the other actions I mentioned are available in GIMP. :-)

Though probably behind Photoshop somewhat in capability GIMP I feel comes in a close 2nd. And it's free of cost!
Thanks Alexandros.

I collected the last picture manually. Photoshop has always refused (at least for me) to collect a mosaic from proms.

Thanks, Alexandros

I usually use the curves tool, but in the case of a mosaic, I cannot bring all the pieces to the same brightness level, although this should not be difficult. If initially everything is fine at first, then in ImPPG everything will appear again.
