Eclipse through cloud

Post by Montana »

Well, I expected nothing less, clouds on eclipse day. Finally by mid eclipse the cloud was thin enough in patches to get a live view through naked eyes which was lovely. So snapped some images with my Nex-7 camera.

All while watching the Live stream from Edinburgh, which was only marginally better than my view ;)

A very enjoyable morning even if it was and still is cloudy. I'm sure everyone else will have some fab images :hamster:

Hi Alexandra...

Sorry to hear the clouds played havoc with your attempts, but the shots are still good. The sharper ones in the thinner cloud are certainly worth the effort :bow

Love the shots, Alexandra.
You suffered the same cloud issues as we did here in Mid Wales. Grabbed a few shots through cloud around 11.00 UT, these being the best we could get.

Les.

Clouds... natures own natural solarfilter.

The thin clouds adds to the wide angle shots, but of course makes it difficult to do any high-res imaging. However, I think your animation is brilliant. The moving clouds makes it much more dynamic.

Arne

It turned out to be an excellent reportage. It was definitely worth the effort, hopefully next time the weather will allow you to do everything you planned.
