You surprise every time. An excellent and illustrative comparison. How do you deal with dust?

Thanks again Ivan

I usually do not use any flats. A good cleaning of the ccd/cmos window is a must

It helps to keep the cameras in a sealed case (eg pelican)

Excellent presentation Pedro.

Yes indeed, keeping those "Dust Bunnies" away in the first place is a must, so any open optics/cameras must be immediately-capped, or as Pedro correctly uses the sealed-case method.

My three scopes and cameras are left in situ and just the objectives are covered when finished with and when that is done, a fairly powerful blower-pump is used to blow dust away from the tri-scope assembly and mount etc., before covering the whole set-up with an appropriate water-proof/dust sheet, ready for an immediate restart at the next session... Never really had any "DB" issues in up-to 10-years - that way.
A little work, can save a lot of work...

Thanks Pedro
Terry

Very nice work Pedro. I missed that nice prom due to clouds. I barely got a WL observation in. The 12th was even worse, it was cloudy almost the whole day with thunderstorms and rain. I barely got a peek at the Sun with my Lunt 8x32 SUNoculars. Nothing there was large enough or high contrast enough to see in such a small white light instrument. The GONG white light intensitygram did show a new spot very near the NE limb.

Good luck on a Sunday session.

James
