The Sun - 16 June 2021

Post by David_The_Bears_Fan »

Didn't have a lot of time yesterday but managed to get short session in. Glad I did as there was some nice activity. Please ignore the file names that reference the wrong AR! I realised later that the site I was using to check active region numbers was no longer updating.

Excellent images David and the colouring is perfect too.
Look as if Newton has given you some rings in the last image, but no worries as is still and excellent capture...
And the CaK proms are so good too.

Thanks for sharing
Terry

Superb imaging :bow :hamster: you got some great CaK proms :hamster: Nigella can get them too but my Lunt module just will not view them. Obviously all Lunt CaK are equal but some are more equal than others :)

Thanks Terry. I tweaked my usual colouring routine this time and I am much happier with the result, particularly the H alpha was bugging me. Just hope I can remember how I did it when the next session comes up! I can usually minimise the Newtons rings by adjusting the alignment of the diagonal / barlow / quark / camera but I was in a hurry on this occasion and did not get it quite right.

Thanks! Good feedback on the colours, as above I was never quite happy with them in the past.

Thanks Alexandra. Luck of the draw I guess with these things but I seem to have come by a good Calcium module and a half-decent Quark. I'm going to have to pay for this at some point  Nigella was the one who helped me pull the proms out of my disk panes, something i had not been able to do previously :bow2
