Animation AR12833, 2021-6-20, 92 frames, 90 minutes

Post by H-Alpha »

Good morning all,

I tried another animation of 1h30min today on the same AR12833. The clouds once more ruined the captures that followed. There was less activity than yesterday, but still it is interesting to observe what happens around the penumbra. This time the white flashes look more like Elerman bombs. It seems that the second group of spots 'try' to gather and grow, but perhaps it is mostly my wish rather than reality.

I hope that from tomorrow I will manage to upload animations in Flickr, so that I do not overload solarchat anymore. Sorry for that, and thanks for the patience of the moderators.

PLEASE give the animation the time to load properly. Today I made it half speed in comparison to yesterday.

You are getting some lovely results from your animations :movie

To try and get the size down you can save all your processed images as small JPEG and load those into a stack, does this shrink the size but keep the quality? Also, when you save to a gif you can clip it down to maybe 1000 pixels wide, does this alter the quality/size?

In Flickr, view the 'original' to see the gif working. Pick 'Original' when you copy the BB code and the gif will run in the forum.

Keep up the very good work :)

Dear Alexandra, thanks so much for the advice and help!!! As you will see in my new post of the full frame animation it worked! Now everything through Flickr! I was already animating Jpgs, but had not try so far to reduce the jpg quality a bit and see the results. I am experimenting on this now. In several cases I don't want to reduce the size, since we would loose much of the details and the beauty. ;-)

But as long as Flickr will allow to upload large files, we are saved! ;-)

Many thanks once more,
Alexandros

Thanks a lot Tommi for your kind words!
I am really glad you like them. It is only a very short time with a new faster laptop that I realized the potential.
Best wishes,
Alexandros

Mark thanks for your interest and for asking. The haze issue is not sorted out yet. I have emailed Lunt twice after the initial answer I got asking for a drawing or a photo of the scope internally and few more details, but I receive no answer :-( I will try once more.

I am decided to open the scope when I will have some further guidance from their part. I plan to do this by September-October when I will return from our summer research fieldwork offshore. I have two weeks of sunny days ahead of me, so I thought better to enjoy them before entering into the deep and risky internal world of the scope. ;-)

Best wishes,
Alexandros
