MASSIVE S.W. PROMS THIS MORNING 11-7-2021

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

The Subject says it all, as such a large area of proms available to see and image this morning (weather permitting of course)...

OMG indeed what a large prom area, too bad I can't observe because of the clouds.
Thanks for sharing Terry.

Thank you Terry for the views. The one on top seems to be a coronal rain loop, that is super cool. We witnessed one few years ago and many of the members imaged it and made beautiful animations.

Many thanks Maurits and yes even here it's too cloudy at the moment. I wish you better weather.

Indeed Franco this is certainly unusual to see so much action as of this morning and hopefully some will capture this event with loads of images.
As you say, the Coronal Rain Loop is quite spectacular and we need more of these events...

Cheers and CLEAR SKIES
Terry

Alas, it is going to be a while until we see much of the sun down in southwest Ohio! I caught a coronal loop last November on the 29th and it was gorgeous!

Thanks you Ivan, James, Alexandra, Petrus and anyone-else on the other-side..

Are we surprised Alexandra that when these rare events occur, the non-rare English weather plagues us ??
Didn't bother me today as have been doing the ground-work for the mini-obsy (in between the rain-showers)..

Hi Petrus, I have just seen you excellent capture of the action and especially when I can't observe or image, I can and do (each morning) review what I am going to miss - when the weather dictates... So I know that at least these actual-events at that time can enthuse others (like yourself) to capture yourself the best of what 'Old Sol' has to offer.

Even though our James very regularly reports what he can see from the other-side of the Atlantic, which are very useful too, but with quite a few hours difference from U.K./GMT time where I am, at least an early report can alert those in Europe and the western-seaboard countries for when they wake-up for breakfast, although I'm not sure James actually gets much or any sleep, judging by his post-times !!!

Look forward to seeing your pics Ivan

There's still lots going on for those proms - 7-hours later...

CLEAR SKIES please
Terry
