The "horned" spot may be a new type, but you have certainly captured and excellent shot Chris

Thanks for sharing what I can't see today

Thanks everybody. :bow

It makes another 10 hour day in "the office" so worthwhile. :D
Thank goodness for trees! Or I'd be in the observatory even longer. ;)
This is my two storey observatory, in my back garden, seen from the east!

You are very lucky indeed Rusted :bow I used to have lovely trees and fields to my east too. The reason I bought my house, but that soon changes when human greed sets in and they sell off the land to builders. Let's hope you never experience that ;)

Thanks. :D

There are strict rules about trimming trees around here.
My wife makes them up as she goes along.

Nice one Chris and if you ever decide to paint the dome green, even you will not see it from outside of the forest...

Thank you everybody. :bow

Terry,

Your subtle camouflage will be quite unnecessary by next year.
The Hovel Observatory will have completely vanished beneath the shrubbery. ;)
The green paint I used is supposed to have a 15 year lifetime. It lasted one and half.
The marine sealer I used showered themselves with glowing praise.
And showered my telescope and equipment inside the dome within months.
I could have covered the plywood dome in fibreglass but I decided against it.
Now I have started again with a bigger, all fibreglass dome.

Maurits,

Thanks again. I have just been enjoying your excellent website.
An incredibly professional observatory build and superb equipment. :bow

And, built incredibly well, to last! :bow

I felt the need for more shelter than a roll off-roof provides. Because I spend countless hours in there.
So it has to shelter me from the summer sun, Scandinavian winter cold and almost constant wind.
The difficulties of construction and greater cost of a dome, are amply repaid in my own, humble opinion. ;)
