You still show more detail in AR12859 than I can see visually.

Good effort though, you have quite a lot of detail there.

Nailing focus is still something I haven't fully come to grips with, especially with it fluctuates so much in variable seeing. I'm convinced at this point there is no 'perfect focus' point, more just a range where its in focus more than it isn't, lol.

Great image though! Ya all are giving me aperature fever with shots like this:)

Well done on your excellent and difficult-focusing capture Chris.
I had the same problem this morning.

Thanks for sharing

Thank you everybody! :bow

That light bridge was amazing. Not only thin but crooked.
It gave me something to aim for in pulling something from the mush in ImPPG. :D

Regarding focusing:
Both my iStar refractors [180mm f/12 and 150mm f/10 H-a] are normally exactly in focus or they are not.
When the seeing allows it is shocking how microscopically small are the focuser movements required.
I highly recommend electric focusing to completely avoid touching the telescope.

I use inexpensive, belt driven, Skywatcher DC gearbox motors with HitecAstro [UK] control boxes.
The timing belts work fine on the typically textured focuser knobs. No need to use the slow motion knob.
Tiny movements are available from the HitechAstro software, on screen, using the mouse.
Stepper motors would need toothed sprockets to maintain repeatable positioning.
I cut motor mounting brackets out of black plastic, kitchen cutting boards.

The last two days have been awful! Making me question everything I must be doing wrong.
Others have confirmed that it wasn't just me. It was the western European sky misbehaving. :D

Thanks Alexandra for advising about the Jetstream over Chris, as it is also over me too, which accounts for the very bad stable imaging of yesterday morning..
