Belated August Ca K image / 8/29 & 30

Post by christian viladrich »

Dear All,

I am running out of time with too many things to do ...Here are some Ca K images taken at the end of August.

This one image was taken on August 29 with a double stack Ca K filter. Note the small flare in the sunspot group :

One day later, with a simple stack Ca K (which explains the reduction of contrast) :

And a zoom at the small group :

Clear skies

Excellent Christian, the difference with double stack is really quite apparent.

The only perfectly tuned setup and fantastic output of the processing, that is worth repeating and trying out :bow
What could be a comparison with the 183 camera for both cases, FD in full resolution instead of the 1600 and cropped one vs the 290 for close-up?

Thanks to all :-)

Leo,here the ASI 290 runs at 166 frames/s. So, I would say it would take the lead on the ASI183. But this is just my guess.

Well, you're right, crop on the 183 chip with the same resolution gives only 80fps, i.e. half as much compared to full frame of 290
thanks

I really like my 290mm for CaK, it is my goto camera for anything other than full disk at 393nm.
