16-9-2021 THE SUN IS BLANK - NOT FOR LONG HOPEFULLY NOW

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

The attached STEREO image, shows that in around 2+ days, the S.E. is hopefully about to see some activity - to break the short holiday... :hamster:

At least the solar quiet hit during a cloudy period for me.

Thanks for the update Terry.

Thanks, Terry.

I think my images from this afternoon also show this region on the edge of the limb, just 'around the corner' as it were. :)

Thank you everyone and the latest STEREO image available as 14:05z 16th/Thursday, shows that this S.E. approaching AR is still on track and time to arrived through the weekend at least. There may be a problem with the STEREO operation at present.

I'm not sure how active this one might be, but it is certainly far from small...

Looking at the latest SDO imagery really only shows that the first we are likely to see from that region is prominence-activity which as I speak at 23:45z is just showing some slight prom action...

CLEAR SKIES to all.

Terry
