September 19th - Ha Session

Post by MapleRidge »

Good day everyone...

I have been tied up with work and other responsibilities the past week or more, and not been able to post many comments or new images. Great to see all the posts during that time though! We have had an extended spell of very nice late summer weather and Sunday was no exception so I was able to get to the scope and image. Based on the SpaceWeather reports I wasn't expecting much, there was a nice amount of recently emerged detail to view and image,

The first image is the full disk composite through the LS80T/LS75FHa/B1800Ha with the ASI1600MM camera and 1.6x barlow:

The two new AR's showed a nice amount of detail and there were several large filament groups as well. Most of the proms were small, but a pair of larger ones were on the SE limb. The images below were taken through the modded Orion EON 130 OTA fitted wit the pair of Lunt DSII etalons and B1800Ha blocker. I used the ASI290MM camera and 1.3x barlow for the images below:

I was glad to get out yesterday as the weather forecast for the next 3 or 4 days is overcast with rain.

As always, questions and comments are welcome on the session.

Thanks,
Brian

There may not have been many active regions but the prominences were certainly spectacular :bow :hamster: I'm glad you got a break from the observatory project :)
