Session time is from 14:00 to 14:30 UTC. The skies are clear with below average seeing. The temperature is 54F ( 12.2C )
Coronado SolarMax II 60 DS. 16x and 25x ( Ha )
I can see six plage/disturbances in the Ha chromosphere today. AR12887 is visible in the far SW as a plage and spot. East-Northeast of AR12887 lies the plages of AR12889 and AR12888. South and southwest of these three plages lie the last of a belt of south polar filaments that is getting shorter day by day. The NW shows the plage of AR12892. AR12891 is just east of the LCM shows it's plage and a spot or two but I have to look close to see the spots. I can see the disturbed chromosphere around it though the SMII90 would show this much better. A fair number of filaments are seen north and northwest of this system. One to the NW of AR12891 and NE of AR12892 is really dark and easy to see. AR12893 is visible as a spot and disturbance near the NE limb.
Prominences are few. A fairly bright tall slim prominence is seen on the NE limb. It's easy to see. The SE and NW have dimmer ones. A bright but small one is seen on the SW limb.
The mottles are easily seen across the disc today.
Orion 70mm Solar Telescope. 25x and 50x ( WL )
I can see three active regions on the WL photosphere today. AR12887 is in the far SW and shows a single structured spot with three pores SE of it. The SDO HMI continuum image shows three more smaller pores that I could not see. Scattered faculae surround the spots. AR12891 shows three spots with penumbrae. I can hint a few pores in the system too. Substandard seeing prevents me from seeing more detail. AR12893 near the NE limb shows a single fully structured spot with umbra and penumbra surrounded by faculae.
The fine granulation of the photosphere is weakly visible.
Carpe Diem!
James

Re: November 1 2021 Observations
Thanks vm James and for me WL only though an 80mm and HW from the mini-obsy, showed exactly as you saw it.
Too many fast moving clouds prevented any other trial from there today, but with a new pc expected around Wednesday for Sodium and WL imaging from the new obsy, should begin to allow time for imaging...

Thanks for the great description, James! That prom in the northeast is still in shape, I thought it wouldn't last that long.

Re: November 1 2021 Observations
Great observations James, it is interesting that if it were not for all the ARs around the southern polar crown filament would be the star of the show. I'm glad you enjoyed it

Re: November 1 2021 Observations
Thanks and welcomes everyone, and Alexandra that south polar crown looks nice even in my SMII60.
