November 20 2021 WL Only

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Session time is a brief one around 15:17 UTC. The skies have a considerable amount of high cloudiness. The seeing is average to just below average. The temperature is 39F ( 3.8C )

Orion 70mm Solar Telescope. 25x, 50x and 62.5x ( WL )
Today the Sun shows little detail in white light. I can see only two spots. The southernmost one belongs to AR12896. I can only barely make out a hint of a penumbra with the spot. The NE shows a single spot associated with AR12897. SDO shows a penumbra associated with it it but I cannot see it at all. I can see some faculae at the SE limb.

Fine granulation can be seen without difficulty.

Carpe Diem!

James

Thanks James and at least for a bland disk the two spots are well spotted.

Almost total/intermittent cloud cover here, but will have a look shortly

No. The sun overall seemed calm. I hope to get a session in today if the clouds let me. It doesn’t look good.

Sorry Mark, I know that sucks! It's slowly clearing off here after a frontal passage. It's getting colder and windier.
