Visual observations 22/11/2021

Hi

Sunny clear and light wind.

90mm f6.7 Triplet. 35nm KG3. Baffle. Baader T2 Prism. 4.2x Chromo. Celestron 40mm. 63x

11.20 - 11.30

Gong O.Clock

Spicules and granulation visible.

9.30 Low prom with bright point one end.

8.30 Spike leaning up with smaller one leaning down below

7.30 Tall waisted flower jar. Jets out of the top either side. Small spike above connected at top. Connection continues on leaning up. Cross near end.
Small filament just visible above. Then the large filament.

6.30 Triangle prom leaning up. Vertical side a bit brighter. Little bar over the tip.

3.30 A couple of faint short wide proms.

1.00 A jet with spray above, low Y shape. Small spike above. Gap then little spike. Faint spot under.

8.30 Spike leaning up with smaller one leaning down below

7.30 Spike prom, man standing on one leg arms apart raised up, with head-dress pointing up.
Spike leaning up from knee, with cross at end.

6.30 Triangle prom leaning up. Vertical side a bit brighter. Little bar over the tip.

3.30 A couple of faint short wide proms.

1.00 Arch prom, top arch brighter with spike going down from top.

90mm f6.7 Triplet. 35nm KG3. Baffle. Baader T2 Prism. Omega 1.5A, VK 3x TC Baffle, Baffle 10mm off-axis, Prom, 10mm on-axis, Baffle 1.25" helical focuser, 25mm Clave'. 72x.

1.00 - 1.15

Similar to Chromo, dark background, slightly less surface detail.

Gong O.Clock

Spicules and granulation visible.

9.30 Low long prom above surface.

8.30 Spike leaning up with smaller one leaning down below

7.30 Spike prom, man standing on one leg arms apart raised up, with head-dress pointing up.
Large triangle pointing up from the top down to knee. Little feed near mans body. Outside of triangle bright, faint lines within. Brighter near the tip, and little bright spot at the tip.

6.30 Triangle prom leaning up. Vertical side a bit brighter. Little bar over the tip.

3.30 A couple of faint short wide proms.

1.00 Arch prom.

Thanks Andrew for your concise report. I just did some Sodium visual and imaging and those two spots are very small and TBH quite boring, but at least was a target for imaging in very clear skies...

It looks like you have three separate observations here Andrew. Nice job! 👍🏻. You always do so well with prominences!

Granulation? You are talking about the mottling of the chromosphere, right? Granulation is a continuum photosphere feature.

It’s nice to see someone doing detailed visual observations and knowing I am not alone here. 😀
