NEW - AR2904 etc., IF YOU CAN SEE THEM 5-11-2021

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

Over the last 24-hours, the disappearing over the S.W.Limb of AR2898 & 2900 have been busy giving CME's out as :-https://www.spaceweather.com/images2021 ... 3_anim.gif shows. Shame they didn't do much more of that whilst within our view...

If you are able to actually see any of the existing AR-spots today 5/12, then AR2904 is the newbie in the S.E., shows two small spots via the SDO image.

AR2903 in the South Central region and AR2902 approaching the N.W. Limb are barely visibubble...

Enjoy your weekend
CLEAR SKIES

Terry,
Several flare alerts came in during the night on SpaceWeatherLive. I wondered what area they had came from since I saw so few spots on the Sun yesterday. I will research them asap. Today doesn’t look good for observing so far. Clouds and we have rain to the west in Tennessee.

Thanks for the update!

James

Thanks James for the update of your alerts.

Sorry to hear that your weather has precluded any seeing today, but you are not alone, as here varying amounts of rain all day and this evening
the sky has cleared somewhat, but murky with the humidity-meter showing 99% @ 4.9-degsC , so no doubt either fog or worse will follow including even ice..
Then back to the devastating high-winds over the next three days for many areas of the U.K. :cat

Terry,
It's trying to clear a bit now but the sun is too low to get in the scope for the trees.

Many thanks Stu and now just down to the one AR2904 with a couple of small spots - albeit that could change back to 4-spots even.. :?:

Thanks Terry, just cloud and rain here, not even any sun forecast for the foreseeable... Hoping for something back end of December now.
