WOW !! AR2905, AR2906 & AR2907 POPPING-UP TODAY 14-12-2021

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

All of a sudden, the large area of activity in the S.E. is finally showing that an awakening of the Sun is occurring.. :hamster:

AR2906 and 2907 have joined 2905 in the S.E. quadrant and I wouldn't be at all surprised if more spots will be spotted in due course - there... :bow

Prominences have flat-lined somewhat, but the SDO image does show a lively area (also at the S.E. - over the border)... :D

Have a good day !!

Terry

Thank you, Terry, it is exciting to see this activity. For few days the sun was pretty much blank.

Thanks, Terry for the alert. Should be interesting and may be with some development.

Thanks Franco, Alexandra and Valery.

It's still early days yet for such a large area of activity, but I wouldn't be at all surprised for much more to occur and yes Alexandra & Valery, it should be interesting... :hamster:

Even though most of the U.K. is now either in or will be in a high-pressure region, it might well be that this could be a slow or static high-pressure which at this time of the year, could produce skies that are far less than clear. This could last for 120-hours/5-days.
Let's hope I am wrong and that clear skies will prevail... :bow

Cheers
Terry

I caught this region midday today. These regions showed up easily in my little SMII60.

Thanks for the update, Terry.
